  • They don’t make movies like this anymore

From sound design to props and everything in between; this movie has so much love poured into it. I wasn’t a huge fan of the cult classic that came before this but 2049 is a masterpiece even on its own. If you like sci-fi and enjoy seeing in camera practical effects married beautifully to digital enhancements this movie is for you. Also if you wanna get your freak on this movie is long so it can play in the background.
  • Greatest sequel of all time

Best sci fi movie of the last ten years.
  • Great film, flawed timeline

    By Flub27
The original “Blade Runner” may be my favorite film. As 2019 was still a few decades away, when I first saw it in a theater, it was easier to overlook what was already a flawed timeline for the film. If Ridley Scott had omitted “2019” it would have given the original film — and the sequel — more credibility. With 2019 only a few months away, the differences between the world now and the world created for the original film are glaring. The sequel continues the flawed timeline of the original. With fiction, when real dates and places are being used, there has to be some logic to the world that is created. Having “off-world” colonies in these two films is probably the biggest anachronism, as interstellar travel will still be far beyond human ability in 2019 or 2049. There may be “replicants” in thirty years, and there will probably be flying cars even sooner; but having human colonies “off-world” in this century (except for budding Martian and Lunar colonies) is not going to happen, barring a universe-shaking discovery. I still really enjoyed the new film, even though I felt that the world it created was strained by having to conform to the original timeline. But it is great to forget about the anachronistic issues and watch a beautifully made film like this one — in the end, that is what really matters.

  • Why can't you rent this?

This movie has been available for months, why on earth is it not available to rent?
  • Most underrated movie of 2017

    By Limmerguy
I never saw the original blade runner, but I was completely immersed and transported to the universe of blade runner in my first viewing. Blade Runner 2049 is a rare, true cinematic masterpiece—from art direction to storyline—which a large number of viewers apparently don’t have appreciation for. 2049 is one of just a few of my favorite movies of all time.

  • Snooze fest

This movie and its original move very slowly. The movie has hardly any dialogue, very little mood music, and the story is a very slow moving story. I will say if you have insomnia, you wont after watching this. I sure didnt. Its not worth your time.
  • Dumb!

Really didn’t like this movie. Very disappointing.
  • Survives in Blade Runners’ inhuman reality !

    By 0+hsu
The film manifest lucidly the continuance from 2019 of Deckard’s reality! Psychological difference between humans and replicants seems reverse. But the status of owners and slaves are clearly further apart. Directer Villeneuve has brought us deeper into the dark sinister future of humanity.
