  • Disney has just one theme...

    By DyreLogan
This is more Disney cookie cutter nonsense of following your heart and dreams yada yada yada and disobeying your parents. Firstly, I highly doubt a family would be so horrible as to abolish all kinds of music and forbid children born in said family to stay away or else. Secondly, I thought the Mexican fairy tale of the day of the dead really went a little overboard. I'm about a half hour in and ready to turn it off. Same old tripe. Same old story. Same old fairy tales. Same old follow your wishes and dreams. No real substance. No reality either. If you want to be real here, the kid has already followed his dreams. He learned the guitar and he plays pretty well. Now, get an education and when you're an adult you can leave home and pursue your super stardom after that Ernesto guy, if that's what you really want. The rest is just blah blah blah and I never got into it. Turning it off now. I've seen this Disney movie before, MANY times over. Disney writers rehashing the same old story over and over again while people still slap down their hard warned money for theater then DVD or bluray or digital, music and toys and other paraphernalia while the animators struggled to put it all together to follow a certain time frame. I really feel sorry for the animators. They are probably saying the same thing too. Disney! A little originality here! Come on! Walt must be on that "flower bridge" (oh brother!) and not wanting to to cross over...
  • I'm speechless

This is an amazing movie. The plot is perfect, and it keeps you in great suspense. I love it so much, and I've cried at the end every single time I've seen it. It's a great movie to watch in general, and I epsecially love how it captures the culture of the Mexicans. It honors their traditions, and it reminds us of ours.
