As with any and every remake and sequel, the original movie (or book or TV show) it almost always better than the remake and how ever many sequels get made. This version of Tomb Raider was no exception. It had fun action but no imagination, weak plot, eye-rolling use of silly plot devices and totally predictable. My impression was that this movie was made for the sake of making a movie with a strong female lead. Not saying it was a bad movie, but compared to the original, it really does not compare, which then begs the question, why even make it? I can understand if Jolie did not want to reprise the role of Lara again, but this movie would have been more successful with a storyline continuation rather than reinvention. Unfortunately, Hollywood has a really hard time with originality these days.

I was excited to watch this but it honestly was mediocre. Acting wasn’t all that. Most things about this movie is just unbelievable.
  • It was a good entertaining movie.

Granted...there were some slow spots, and it was hard not to compare with Jolie's version but, they did a good job on the story line. I was entertained, and it ended with you wanting to see the next take...

I had my doubt after watch the Awful Assassins Creed. Video game don’t make good film most of the time. Tomb Raider is a step in the right Direction. Alicia shine as this younger version of Lara I spent hours of playing the Rebooted game series. The supporting cast a mass and a villain we have seen in different films. But how it take the best set pieces from the 2013 game give me goosebumps!!! Script was massy at times with a boring first 30mins. I can’t recommend this film enough. If you treasure the first two films the most just ignore this film all together. This is for the modern fans .

Very Boring. The old Tomb Raider movies were better. Save your money!

I didn’t expect that much when I rent it. But it’s worse than I thought. Overall story doesn’t make sense. Why she doesn’t sign the paper? getting more equipments with money to save her father is logical and she would have much better chance to save her father. The director makes Lala so stupid and she makes a lot mistakes in movie.

A straight to video game movie. You could make a drinking game out of the numerous times our new L Croft grunts and groans repeatedly as she hangs by one arm over a random precipice with a determined expression on her face. If there was any acting in this movie I missed it.

I had high hopes for this movie. Maybe that is why I was so disappointed. I was expecting the Angelina Jolie super hero version of Lara Croft. Instead I got the Lara that tapped out in the ring, lost a bike race because she was distracted by an image she thought was her father (why after so many years she thought her father would just be walking around the city is beyond me), was taken advantage of by some street kids, a Lara Croft that did not obey her fathers last wish by destroying his file regarding a tomb. Which results in her father really getting killed. Need I go on?
