Not worth renting or buying. The film would have done okay if it left out all the heavy-handed preaching about LGBT awareness and women sexual empowerment. Unfortunately cramming in all the politically correct "2018" commentary totally interupts the comedic flow of the movie -- feeling like you (the audience) are constantly being talked down to by Hollywood, and it seems like an inappropriate (or mismarketed) setting to discuss these topics under the guise of a raunchy film. Also I am pretty sure whoever made this has (A) never been to Illinois -- the setting is 100% California; and (B) doesn't remember what high schoolers and high school parties/proms actually resemble.

I recently watched Blockers while on a flight. I checked reviews beforehand because typically I trust users more than rotten tomatoes and the ratings on here were mixed. It seemed either 5 star or 1. When I read the one stars, many mentioned a liberal agenda which I was curious what i was in for. Thought the movie was a cute coming of age comedy with some very funny parts. John Cena is hilarious. As for a liberal agenda? This is baffling to me. Is there not anything anymore that is dividing us and becomes overly political? What do those reviewers find so offensive in this film? That John Cena’s character is married to someone of Asian decent? That there is another mixed marriage depicted? That one of the young ladies is fighting to figure out if she is lesbian? Are these not normal every day occurrences that should be represented in our films? Anyway, if you aren’t afraid of the liberal agenda being thrown in your face, give this film a shot, it’s pretty funny.

Compared to other teen comedies, this is a 4/10 nothing nee here. Not very funny, save for a few of the parent’s scenes. Pass this movie. All hype/talk, no follow through.

I assume all of the negative political reviews are either from virgins or from those who get upset at strong female leads in movies. Either way, don’t let their bias sway you from watching this movie.
  • They have completely stopped trying.

Saw this film for free, still feel like I'm owed some money back. Seriously, my 11-year-old's home movies on YouTube are funnier and more original. Hollywood is done. Stick a fork in it.

Truly awful. Not funny. No charisma between the cast. Just bad.
