It was an excellent movie and I had pre-oredered this movie as soon as I got the chance. I was extremely excited ever since the first trailer dropped. I was expecting a very intense love story and it did have its moments but at the end of the day it was an Indie movie that focused on being very realistic. I highly recommend and it is probably the best lesbian movie to come out in ages besides Carol.

Very emotional and filled with meaning. I found it difficult to follow at first, and the entire thing was incredibly somber! Like, the entire movie!! I like how it really gave insight on the personality of a culture that is rarely seen publicly but wow, so sad! Death, lovers that can never be, the breakup of a marriage, a community losing its leader and then seeing his predecessor unravel slightly...I have to admit though, when Dovid gave his speech at the end and set her free- ugh! I lost my breath! Super powerful moment. I thought this was a very profound and meaningful movie that I am glad I watched but I wouldn’t want to watch again. Sad.

This is a great movie. The Rachel’s really bring their A game to this film. Very intense and raw feelings are stirred as the boundaries of marriage and friendship are put to the test. I loved it, it was a great ride and Bravo to all involved.

Such a waste! Hollywood managed once more to distort a truly great story, about religion, sexuality, and identity. The book holds much more valuable story of two queer women born into a conservative British society. I higly advice reading the book!
