For 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper, being a once-in-a-generation mind capable of advanced mathematics and science isn't always helpful in East Texas where church and football are king. And while the vulnerable, gifted and somewhat naïve Sheldon deals with the world, his very normal family must find a way to deal with him. His father is struggling as a high school football coach and as father to a boy he doesn’t understand. Sheldon's mother fiercely protects and nurtures her son who just doesn't fit in. Sheldon’s older brother does the best he can in high school, but he’s also in the same classes with Sheldon. Finally, there’s Sheldon’s twin sister who remains the one person who can reliably tell Sheldon the truth. For 10 years on The Big Bang Theory, audiences have come to know the iconic, eccentric and extraordinary Sheldon Cooper. Now meet him as he embarks on his innocent, awkward journey toward the man he will become.

This show bashes Christians like me and I hate that. Aside from that this show is sappy. If this is a spin-off of the Big Bang theory, then I fail to see resemblance cause it feels like a syrupy drama. I say stick to older sitcoms, ones that were made back when people did not think sex and blasphemy was funny. Yes he had a rough childhood but people don’t think about that. They’re pretty much cheated by the marketing pigs at CBS into thinking it’s enjoyable for bbt fans (I’m sure it is for most) and Sheldon is a total BUTT

It’s enjoyable but what the viewers don’t understand is that Sheldon’s childhood past wasn’t a good one and that’s what people are forgetting from the Big Bang theory it’s not about being funny it’s about telling us the viewer about how bad Sheldon had it growing up I mean Sheldon talks about it throughout the seasons so yeah it’s a bad childhood don’t be upset about how this show is handling it I think it’s ok and remember bad childhood=drama show🤯
  • Horrible!

When the writers chose to mock Jesus Christ, they lost many adoring fans. I hope this series tanks. Edit: Now they’re pushing student rebellion and trans children. What a waste of talent.
  • Awesome show

This is the best even if I haven’t watched a lot of Big Bang theory I still understand it keep up the good work

Love this show! The kid is adorable and the show gives you real laugh out loud moments a little too rare with comedies today. If you’re a fan of Sheldon definitely watch!
  • Enchanting!

One of the most captivating shows I’ve seen. Brilliant! The show frames the development of Sheldon’s intellect within a conservative religious environment. While Sheldon’s scientism may be pedantic, it is never without innocence and love for his family and their view of the world. I had the same reaction to this show as I have had to various British comedies. Young Sheldon is a gentle, sympathetic, Horatian satire, in contrast to Hollywood’s typically over-exaggerated, post modern, salacious and incomprehensibly absurd dramatic irony. The entire cast is spot on! Iain Armitage captures the essence of a young Sheldon Cooper with depth and charm. Zoe Perry plays the mother we want for Sheldon and could only hope for ourselves. Lance Barber plays the beer and football loving everyday American dad in a lovable and highly relatable way. Annie Potts! What a perfect choice for Sheldon’s inimitable Meemaw. Even Sheldon’s siblings, who could easily have appeared as simple foils to Sheldon’s character, are anything but that. Raegan Revord plays the plucky Missy, the twin with all of the emotional intelligence. And, Montana Jordan deftly portrays Sheldon’s big brother who is determined to make his own way next to his brilliant brother. I immediately purchased the entire season and eagerly await each new release.
  • The Best Show Ever!

The casting and writing of this show are the best I have ever seen. There isn't a single weak link in the cast--even the old biddy in church and the teachers are to die for! It is such a pleasure after decades of lousy/trashy tv to finally see something that is thoughtful, colorful, warmhearted and so funny. As for the actor who plays "Young Sheldon" he has nailed it--he so convincingly and richly slides into the family then is suddenly out of place again in the impractical world--as it is with most geniuses. Add him to the absolutely magnificent cast of supporting actors and the brilliant writing and you have a winner--thirty minutes of blissful escape and laughter!
  • One two many bazingas

I watched lil Shelly as I call it and I notice it didn’t have enough bazinga per episode, overall though I’d give this series an apple and a bread log outta ten
